How much time does it take to be a part of The Birth Registry?
After you complete the interest form, a member of The Birth Registry team will reach out to you within two business days. The complete onboarding process is dependent upon the signing of all required documents by your facility’s leadership and ACOG, and successful integration of your EHR with the registry vendor. This timeline may vary among participating sites.
How much does it cost to enroll in The Birth Registry?
There is currently no cost to enroll or participate in The Birth Registry for the first year. Future fees will be determined based on a scale that considers the number of a facility’s births per year. These fees will take effect in the second year and will be communicated to each facility at the time of enrollment.
Does data have to be manually submitted?
No, The Birth Registry was designed to utilize clinical data entered by providers at the point of care and the data is extracted directly from the EHR without the need for burdensome chart abstraction and double data entry.
How will data pulled from the hospital EHR be used by ACOG?
ACOG is a strong advocate of data privacy and will only use de-identified, aggregate data. We will not analyze, report, or sell patient or provider-identifiable data. Data pulled from the EHR will be used to share impactful quality metrics back to participating sites and ultimately improve maternity care and outcomes.
